Interior design in jordan?

Interior design in Jordan is growing and there are 100's of interior designers and i am seriously proud to be one of them, but the problem is that we are not under Jordan enginees association we are not part of it. Ok we are designers we are not enginees and if we dont fit there why not start our own association. I really think its our right, anyone agree with me ?

  • Well mira, i once checked with many governmental authorities about the terms and conditions we should meet to start our own "computers" association because we have the same problem as the designers(or interior designers), so i was told that there is no problem, you only have to have atleast 1000 members in this association before you can be approved and have your own "naqaba"..so this is the first and most important term we should meet, and i guess i can join this association as iam also a designer even if in somehow a different field :)

  • we can do the same that iam doing with computer guys who want to get their own association, just collect their name and phone and email for future contact..then we can start thinking seriously about it

  • nice pic Mira!

as for your question, I think you should have your own association. I think interior designers and architects should be under the same association.

  • Thx Omar your pic is nice as well :) well we are part of atchitects very integrated but they take some subjects like maths and stuff that its not required in interior thats why they would never accept to allow us in. Got it?

  • Its funny you guys cause I was thinking the same thing to .. I think we should do it our self’s. I graduated as an interior designer awhile ago from the U.S and I still live there. I’m also a member of the following associations:

The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID)

    The International Interior Design
    Association (IIDA

Please feel free to contact me..

  • I agree with you, I'm a jordanian interior designer living in Doha and there isn't a single governmental association for interior designer in the whole of the middle east. We aren't aknowledged as professionals in general while in the states you can't practice interior design if you aren't registered.
