I'm alive or am I alive?

How can anyone know if he is alive? If his heart beats, doesn't mean he is alive? If your body and brain is working well, are u alive?If you have everything you ever wanted, does it mean you are alive? Can anyone ever have everything or be satisfied?If a person is living in greif does it mean he is dead? Can anyone consider a person with no ambitions, alive?

If you live a normal life and die a normal death, does it mean you once was alive? After dying and people forgetting you ever exited ,cause you didn't leave a trace behind you, means you were once alive?

Can a person who spent his entire life working, ever be considered alive?If you have nothing to lose or nothing to fight for, are you alive?

CAN ANYONE EVER BE ALIVE?Am i alive or living?
Can anyone define " I am alive"?

  • Being alive for real can be done first by finding your true beliefs, embrace them, live by them, and work very hard under them in the course of evolution, in the hope to add something valuble to the world, and in case you couldn't, at least you've tried.

    I don't mean that you should only work for your beliefs, no I mean work whatever you like the most without it being against your beliefs.

    But your work must be productive and in the course of evolution, meaningless work can't make you satisfied only happy for a short period of time.

    Happiness is only an emotion, even a cheap one forms and fades very quickly, and it's wrong to depend on it in your life or work, becasue it'll never make you satisfied.
    The true happiness in life is not what makes you happy, but what makes you satisfied with yourself to the fullest, and not regret your actions and life.

    Only that way, you'll feel satisfied and content with your life, or in another word you'll be actually LIVING.

    You must not be satisfied with the generic choice, the one 95% of the people follows: study, work, make lots of money, get married have children, buy expensive stuff and property then die.
    you'll have to find your own life even if it was against your Environment, family, friends.
    Everyone has a unique life and interests, and it's utterly wrong to be a passive and follow your society and surroundings, you'll be insulting your intelligence that has been giving for you for a reason.

    OMG, sorry mira I wrote an article :), but I've been wondering about this particular issue for a while, and my mind is full of ideas about that matter, and I can go on forever.
    I'm glad you brought up this issue, so that other people may wake up.

    I think being alive is two things:
    Physical: you can check your heart beating, sometimes scratch your finger, see your blood it helps.

    Mental: Being what you wanna be, fighting, doing what you beleive.

    Exactly I agree on what you're saying living normal life and so on. If you don't make a change, if you don't have your name in a book or something, you're not alive. Who will remember you?

    Youknow what it is a great post.. and it makes you wonder... I love life, I love living... sometimes life can be so hard, sometimes people just get satisfied with what they have and stay there.. like many of my colleagues in Germany... Some of them have pushed the same computer botton for the last 15 years... and you know what, as dead as i considered them they are alive! put any of them in a survival situation and you would see how alive they are! yes you are alive as long as you have a heart that beats... you only die once that heart stops beating... have you ever seen a movie called beyond Rangoon? lovely movie!

  • First I would like you to know that this post is just stunning, I am pleased with the way you portrayed your wondering thoughts and questions regarding the topic. It is always good to wonder, seek answers, and find new questions during ones life. That alone is proof that you are living.

    The meaning of living varies from one person to another. Therefore, you cannot have a right or wrong answer. The question is; what does it mean to live in your opinion? For me, writing, reading, and meeting new people means I am living. Doing crazy things, getting adrenaline pumping, and taking risks makes me feel alive.

    I did sky diving just two days ago, and right before the moment I jumped out of the plane I felt alive. I have never felt more alive in my life. Probably the closest time I had felt as alive was when I bunji jumped a few years back. But that’s just me.

    It would be good if you can follow up on that post with one that answers those questions from your point of view.
